A Morning Ritual to Energize Your Body & Soul

There are some people who jump out of bed, ready to go and there are some who drag themselves out of bed.

I fall into the latter group.

However, there is something ungrateful about not wanting to face the new day, as every day we are given is a blessing.

We have one more chance to make a difference in the lives of our families and friends.   We have one more chance to save our souls.

Our goings to sleep and our wakings should be full of gratitude for the beautiful things that God has giving us.

Should be.

In reality, I am not my best energy-wise in the morning, I tend to wake up tired. Some of you might be able to relate.

I came up with this easy, 3-step morning ritual I plan on doing it to lessen my morning blues.

1.  Have a glass of lemon water.

Lemons have the capacity to not only flush out your system, but the Vitamin C  boosts your immune system and leaves you feeling generally great.

First thing in the morning, I’m going to have somelemon water.  I used to do this in the past and I felt amazing.

***Tip: Leave a glass of lemon water at your bedside so that when you wake up, you don’t have to sleepwalk to the kitchen to get it.  Simply sip it right after you open your eyes.

2. Pray the “Morning Offering”

Praying the morning offering is a wonderful way to start your day.

For those of you who are not Catholic, or maybe who was never taught the morning offering, it is a beautiful prayer that offers your all to God – the good and the bad – the joys and sufferings.

Morning Offering
O Jesus,
through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, morning ritual
I offer You my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings
of this day for all the intentions
of Your Sacred Heart,
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
throughout the world,
in reparation for my sins,
for the intentions of all my relatives and friends,
and in particular
for the intentions of the Holy Father.

Amen.

3. Do 1 minute of push-ups (about 25)

Girly pushups count.

Pushups build core strength and burn calories.  They burn between 25-50  calories depending on your weight.

If you’re not used to doing 25 pushups, do whatever you can.  Start with 5 or start with ten.

After this ritual, thank God for giving you life and continue with whatever rituals you might have, whether it’s the Divine Office,  breakfast or a shower.

Following this ritual  will make a difference in your energy level and the way you face the day.

It has for me.
